📣 Subliminal Advertising is beginning to appear in Generative AI Art!
🧠Subliminal advertising embeds hidden messages in various media, aiming to influence behavior without conscious recognition. One famous example is from 1957 when James Vicary asserted he flashed “Drink Coca-Cola” and “Eat Popcorn” briefly during a movie. Sales spiked. Despite that study never being replicated, the incident fueled public concerns about subconscious persuasion and the concept remains a topic of intrigue.
👉We are now seeing early examples of subliminal advertising created by Generative AI models such as Midjourney, Dall-E, and Stable Diffusion. The following pictures were created by Stable Diffusion. Do you see the word ‘Obey’ in the shape of the bodies? Or do you see the ‘Bitcoin’ symbol in the second image?
🚨With Generative AI, anyone can now create subliminal messages quickly and with almost no cost. Are we going to see an explosion of this advertising technique?
