Dr. David Rice

Dr. David Rice is Associate Professor of Marketing at the Schulich School of Business at York University in Toronto, Canada. He has published extensively in scholarly journals and has presented his research at conferences in over 20 countries. Over the past 35 years, Dr. Rice has provided market research services and consulting to both Fortune 100 and 500 companies. His consulting experience includes successful market research projects for Microsoft, Intel, Dell, Procter & Gamble, General Mills, Ford Motor Company, Eli Lilly, Canon and the World Bank.
Dr. Rice was the Founder and President of SurveySite Market Research in Toronto. SurveySite was one of the early companies conducting online market research. SurveySite was sold to ComScore in 2003. Today, Dr. Rice continues to teach and offer market research consulting services to companies in Canada and Worldwide.
Dr. Auleen Carson
Dr. Auleen Carson is a marketing professional and educator whose current work focuses on using creativity to strengthen the future practice and effectiveness of marketing. Her previous marketing experience includes as a senior executive at SurveySite Market Research and Comscore, working with Fortune 50 technology clients to enhance customer offerings through online market research. She is also founder and President of Envision Management, a consulting firm that helps businesses improve performance by leveraging creativity in marketing decision making.
As an educator Auleen has taught marketing to undergraduate and graduate students at three universities and has coauthored a marketing textbook. She developed and currently teaches a course on Creativity in Marketing in both the Master of Marketing program at the Schulich School of Business (York University) and the MBA program at the Lazaridis School of Business and Economics (Wilfrid Laurier University).
Auleen has a PhD in Marketing from the Schulich School of Business and an MBA from the University of British Columbia. In addition to her business practice she is an active Board member and community volunteer, and currently serves on Boards related to marketing, the arts and education.
Dr. Murat Kristal
Dr. Murat Kristal is an Associate Professor of Operations Management at the Schulich School of Business at York University in Toronto, Canada. He joined the Schulich School of Business faculty in 2004, and he received his Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2005. Dr. Kristal is the founding director of Master of Business Analytics (www.schulich.yorku.ca/mban), and Master of Management in Artificial Intelligence (www.schulich.yorku.ca/mmai) Programs at Schulich. In 2016, he was named one of the Top 40 Professors under 40.
Over the past 10 years, Dr. Kristal has provided analytics consulting services to organizations such as Moneris, Global Payments, Vantiv, World Pay, Johnson and Johnson, Desjardins, York Region, 3M, ShredIt, Open Edge, and Gamma Dynacare. Today, Dr. Kristal continues to teach and offer analytics and AI consulting services to companies in Canada and Worldwide.
Chris Carder is a Serial Entrepreneur with more than 20 years experience in the Digital/Technology Sector and a sought-after Startup Advisor, Investor and Advisory Board Member. Chris serves as the Entrepreneur in Residence & Co-Director of Entrepreneurial Studies with the Schulich School of Business and is a Member of the York University Entrepreneurship Council.
He is the past President & Co-Founder of ThinData (Canada's largest email marketing services provider) - acquired by TC Media (Transcontinental) in 2018 and is a Founding Investor of such firms as: AdvisorStream, Wirkn, SkyMotion, Massive Damage, Blade Filters and Portl Media). Chris' Volunteer work in the Non-Profit Sector includes his term as Chairman of the International White Ribbon Campaign & he has been recognized as the Canadian New Media Awards Volunteer (and Employer) of the Year.
Martin Waxman, MCM, APR, is a digital communications strategist, leads social media workshops, and conducts AI research. He’s a LinkedIn Learning instructor, president of a consultancy, and a member of the #AIinPR panel. He’s also a past president of CPRS Toronto and a past-chair of PRSA Counselors Academy. Martin teaches social media and digital marketing at the Schulich School of Business, McMaster University, UToronto SCS, and Seneca College and regularly speaks at conferences and events across North America. He has a Master of Communications Management from McMaster-Syracuse Universities.
Abtin Masseratagah is the CEO and founder of Northrn Mo. Abtin specializes in Viral Marketing, Growth Hacking, Influencer Marketing, Social Media Marketing, Brand amplification (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc), and business development. Abtin travels to guest speak at conferences and universities around the world about his unique techniques developed for the “New Digital World”.
Abtin’s knowledge within the industry specifically comes from the fact that he himself started as an Influencer in 2007. As time continued, He has personally grown a following of over 35,000,000 individuals across various platforms and niches that allows him to diversify his influential capabilities and marketing skills. Dr. Joachim Scholz
Dr. Joachim Scholz is a marketing professor at Brock University who specializes in augmented reality marketing, social media controversies, and branding in digitally-infused and hyper-connected societies. He published the first-ever conceptual article on AR marketing, which won Article of the Year award and is one of the most-cited articles about this topic. Joachim has taught AR since 2015 as part of his digital marketing courses and, in 2020, has launched the world’s first dedicated Augmented Reality Marketing courses for undergraduate as well as MBA students.
Joachim’s research explores how augmented reality can deepen consumer/brand relationships, how it helps customers feel more competent and autonomous, how Pokémon GO players co-create and transport into hybrid-realities, how managers can deploy AR initiatives, and how various types of augmented realities offer different strategic opportunities for brands. His social media research explores how marketers can build their brands in today’s polarized and tribal societies by fighting back against online critics.
One of Joachim’s greatest passions is to share his ‘fresh ideas’ with the broader business community. He is a member of Adweek's Academic Council and regularly publishes research-driven insights on Adweek, MKTGsquad, and other AR-specific publications. He has consulted several wine, beverage and technology companies in the US and Canada on branding and augmented reality marketing.
