Ford Motor Company recently announced its patent application to bring in-car advertising to drivers.

It works by using data such as driving conditions, location, speed, etc., and turns it into ads via the in-car systems.

We believe that this advertising approach provides brands with more opportunities to interact with potential customers.

📻 Imagine putting your destination into the GPS and you hear a customized radio ad like, “On your way to Montreal {insert name}? Stop by X Motel for a quick break!”.

🚨 Additionally, Ford’s data about drivers could be valuable information for advertisers. But this raises the question of how much data is being collected and how often.

Ford could open the door for a new era of in-car marketing focused on personal selling messages. However, only time will tell what direction this technology will head towards.
