Brand Loyalty 2.0: Why NFTs Are the Future of Digital Marketing

Since the 1990s, the world wide web has seen incredible advancements. We can divide this progression into three parts: Web1, 2, and 3. Web1 focused on building awareness and driving traffic to websites. Web2 concentrated on engagement and building relationships with customers, primarily through social media. Now, we are entering Web3, where authenticity, trust, transparency, and ownership are critical, and NFTs are one of the key technologies powering this new digital landscape.

In their recent article for nft now, Brent Annells, CMO of Smart Token Labs, discusses NFTs and their effect on digital marketing. First, he lists companies that have excelled in using NFT campaigns. A noteworthy example is Nike, which partnered with RTFKT Studios to create collectible digital sneakers. Next, Annells emphasizes the importance of utility in NFTs. In the past, NFTs focused mainly on hype and speculation. Today’s NFTs expand on their predecessors, carrying royalties, rights, and returns. They entice users by offering an incentive—a stake in the brand.

As the world wide web moves forward, so too must brands. One way to do so is by adopting technologies specifically for NFTs, for instance, innovations that would allow companies to recognize and respond to NFTs in users’ wallets. With this ability, brands could better harness the power of NFTs and entice customers with boundless creations.
