🔬 A new era of marketing opportunities is on the horizon! Apple’s latest patent application has captured the attention of the Future of Marketing Institute.
🤖 Apple has submitted a patent for a new ‘EEG Integrated’ AirPod that serves as a brain-computer interface. The patent proposes that the device could allow users to control their other devices merely by using their thoughts. For instance, if you’re tired of the current song playing on your iPhone, you can simply think about playing a new song, and it will happen. Similarly, you could potentially ‘think’ about making a dinner reservation, and the ‘Open Table’ App will open on your phone.
📣 What is most fascinating, however, is the potential of the new AirPods to measure cognitive states and emotions through biometrics. Will Apple be able to send you advertising messages directly to your phone or other devices based on how you feel at that moment?
💡Apple’s venture into this sphere could mean a game-changing shift for marketers, opening doors to personalized and emotion-based marketing strategies.
🙅♂️It appears that both Elon Musk (Neuralink) and Apple want to directly interface with the brains of consumers. Who do you think will prevail? And if Musk and Apple are successful, does the consumer lose control over their thoughts and feelings?
