What Metaverse Means for Marketers

In this panel discussion, we see Alvin Wang, China President at HTC telling us the origins of Metaverse and the myths around it. He explains how Metaverse and Web3 are interrelated but also exclusive. He further explains what exactly Metaverse is in simpler language i.e. it is a 3D version of the internet, powered by AI and interfaced through XR technologies.

The scope of Metaverse in value is calculated by several companies like Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs. What we can expect is that it will be a $13 Trillion industry by 2030. In order to completely utilize its potential, marketers need to understand the dos and don’ts of user experience in the Metaverse. Wang formulates a safety guide for immersive marketing which talks about audience transparency, user permission, data collection, etc.

Ely Santos, founder of Metavertising talks about how there were a lot of expectations among the public about the Metaverse being the next best thing and how it is going to change our lives. This still stands but the technology is yet to evolve to make this happen completely and have an immersive experience. 

Adam Ragsdale, CEO and Co-founder of Voca and Zero Gravity Labs extends the discussion to how Metaverse and intra-operable networks are going to work together. He believes there to be parts of Metaverse which will be used by people just like Facebook is a part of the internet but not the internet itself. 

This panel discussion moderated by Ben Kunz, drills down the possibilities with this upcoming technology and the way marketers can realize its potential. If you are a marketer who wants to learn more about it, this video gives a lot of meaningful insights on the same topic.
