As the development of metaverse platforms progresses, it is crucial that consumers understand the risks associated with this space. In this video, the speaker, Louis Rosenberg, provides an insightful analysis of the emerging risks of metaverse platforms, expressing his concern for the significant impact on consumers. Drawing parallels between the metaverse and social media, Rosenberg highlights how both mediums track, profile and influence users in such ways. However, he goes on to explain that the metaverse poses an even greater risk to privacy as it has an extremely invasive, and even manipulative, nature. Additionally, the persuasive power of the metaverse could amplify the spread of misinformation, while blurring the worlds of virtual and reality.
