The gaming community is one of the biggest, diverse and fastest-growing communities, surpassing music and movies in terms of influence and revenue.
As brands get a better sense of gamers’ preferences, they focus on game-specific ad tools and other cost-effective methods to reach gamers during their playtime.
Fortnite’s customizable maps, for example, have become a battleground for advertisers to build mini-games and curate unique experiences inside the Fortnite network. However, creating and promoting a game is expensive, and with no guarantee of long-term audience engagement, it is a risky investment.

Advertisers are tapping into the existing AAA games and their audiences and working with Ad-tech platforms to plug contextually appropriate ads directly into the game titles, resulting in higher audience engagement at a fraction of the cost. It’s a win-win!
While the gaming advertisements are in the experimental stage, we believe that the best ads will be the ones that add to a gamer’s experience rather than hinder it. As brands move towards more immersive Ad strategies, we are seeing a trend of contextually relevant and niche-specific ads that add value to a user’s experience.
